Support for SMEs on the path to the digital future
The term "digitalization", which is often used by politicians and businesses, refers to the development away from analogue processes and towards Industry 4.0. These funding programs are aimed at small and medium-sized commercial enterprises and craft businesses. The aim is to support SMEs in modernizing their processes and workflows through digitalization and preparing them for the future.
"Climate-friendly new build" funding
The new KfW "Climate-friendly new build" program was launched on 1 March. The state subsidy rewards climate-friendly construction, e.g. for new buildings that meet the Efficiency House 40 standard and certain minimum technical requirements.
The German government is planning the "Young buys old" home ownership program for 2024 and 2025. This program supports the purchase of old buildings in need of renovation and links this to a renovation requirement based on the BEG rules.
As part of the 2030 climate protection program, the German government is continuously developing funding for energy-efficient buildings. The current "Federal Subsidy for Efficient Buildings (BEG)" applies to all residential and non-residential buildings in accordance with the Building Energy Act.
With the Digitalbonus funding program, the Free State of Bavaria aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in equipping themselves for the challenges of the digital world. The Digitalbonus enables companies to digitize themselves with hardware and software and improve IT security.
Baden-Württemberg's development bank supports the economy, local authorities and people in the state. They support start-ups and companies with start-ups, investment projects and energy-saving measures.
The Saarländische Investitionsbank AG (SIKB) and the KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) provide specially tailored financing for start-ups or company takeovers. A list of the financing programs can be found on the HWK Saarland website.
Whether expanding a business, purchasing new machinery, developing technical innovations or employee participation: ISB's funding programs support companies in Rhineland-Palatinate with their projects.
NRW.BANK offers various development programs for small and medium-sized enterprises that are in the process of being founded or have been in business for at least two years. This includes the development of digital infrastructure, software and media. In cooperation with Bürgschaftsgemeinschaft Hamburg GmbH (BG), Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB Hamburg) grants investment and working capital loans for business start-ups and company successions at favorable and risk-appropriate conditions.
A focus of Bremen's economic development is the strengthening of small and medium-sized enterprises. With targeted economic support, the WFB and the BAB support this development in Bremen with attractive funding programs: for existing businesses, for start-ups, and for companies that want to establish themselves in Bremen.
With the “Brandenburg Innovation Voucher” funding program, the ILB supports innovation projects in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including craft businesses, on behalf of the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the State of Brandenburg (MWE).
